How much is in a "fruit tray"?

Number of Fruit Trays Oranges Grapefruit
1 fruit tray approx. 11-15 approx. 6-9
1 1/2 fruit trays approx. 16-18 approx. 9-12
2 fruit trays approx. 22-30 approx. 12-18
3 fruit trays approx. 33-45 approx. 18-27
4 fruit trays approx. 44-60 approx. 24-36

*Because the size of the individual citrus pieces vary from season to season, boxes are packed to capacity and measured by weight. The above chart indicates approximate number of fruit that will arrive in your order this season.

How much fruit should I order?

For 1 person...2 fruit trays (approx. 20 lbs.)
For 2 to 3 people...2-4 fruit trays (approx. 20-40 lbs.)
For 4 to 6 people...3-4 fruit trays (approx. 30-40 lbs.)
For more than 6 people...4 fruit trays (approx. 40 lbs.)

Hint: 4 trays is always your best value, plus you'll have plenty to share!

When can I order Florida citrus?
  • Oranges are in season from November through May. Shipping always begins on the 2nd Thursday in November.

Hpw long will my order take?
  • Your fruit is picked and packed to order so you'll want to make sure that you give us time to get you thoughtful gift to where it needs to go! Estimated delivery times can vary from 5-15 days from the time an order is placed to the point of delivery (for example, western states will have longer delivery times than eastern states).
  • For each item you order, you will be asked for the "Requested Arrival Week" during checkout which will help us know when to ship each item to get it there on time.

How long will my fruit last?
  • When kept in the crisper of your refrigerator, your citrus should stay fresh for two to four weeks.
  • Make sure to keep away from heat sources and in cool dry places if possible.

My fruit is GREEN...should I send it back or wait for it to ripen?
  • Actually, you should go ahead and eat them! Green fruit can be the ripest, most tasteful fruit (especially green Valencias)! Very warm nights can keep fully ripe oranges green, even when they are ripe inside.
  • As the weather warms, the excessive amounts of natural chlorophyll in the trees are brought out in the skin of the orange, first around the stem and then down the shoulder of the fruit. This "re-greening" gives the Valencia a green “unripe” appearance...but in reality the inside of the fruit is ripe and juicy.

How long will it take my fruit to arrive?
  • Estimated shipping times can vary from 5-15 days from the time an order is placed to the point of delivery. Order processing is usually completed within 48 hours. Your gift is then packed to order and loaded onto Hyatt Fruit Company's refrigerated trucks. It is then delivered to the final "Ship-to" address by a carrier such as Federal Express, UPS, DHL, or the United States Postal Service.

What kind of fruit do I get when I order something that just says "Oranges"?
  • Due to availability of Florida citrus throughout the season, we ship the ripest, most in-season fruit available at the time of shipment. We must reserve the right to substitute products for equal or greater value. All prices are based on availability.

I live in California but I prefer Florida oranges. Will you ship to me?
  • Sorry but due to US commerce regulations, citrus gifts of any kind cannot be shipped to Alabama, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Louisiana or Texas.

What is "Make It Deluxe"?
  • When you order a "Deluxe" item, we will add a box of Coconut Patties, two jars of Citrus Jellies & Marmalades and a jar of 100% pure Orange Blossom Honey to your order. Especially for the sweet tooth!
